In any case it is easily worth it’s current price tag of 9.99 CAD. I paid $2.81 CAD for Vegas 2 on Steam and paid $49.99 CAD for it when it came out at launch. The story is overall good and adds to the overall Vegas story arc even if it could have been a bit tighter near the end. It has a lot of the same positives even if it still has a few of the negatives as well. ![]() If you enjoyed Rainbow Six Vegas then you’ll probably enjoy Vegas 2. Game Settings Used: all highest blur off 4x AA 1920x1080 Even when there were drops it was still well over 100 FPS. The game ran great with much of the time it running at 144 FPS or close to it. ![]() Being able to change on the fly would have been a better option. You can’t change the difficulty mid mission but you can change it if you choose to load the scene from the beginning which means you may lose some progress depending where in the scene you are. Most of the time whey were decently spaced but a manual save system would have been preferred. The game had four AA settings a v-sync toggle and four other graphics options. Again, I’m uncertain if these issues had to do with Proton or if Windows users experienced them as well. Once the game could actually be played I noticed no bugs or glitches. If it started minimized like I mentioned earlier I knew it would get to the main screen fine. Ironically this happened when the game didn’t start minimized. There wasn’t any errors or crashes, just nothing. There were also some times where it never got to the main screen. There was also an issue where the game when launched wouldn’t be given priority and I would have to manually click the game in the taskbar to make it take priority and span my screen. This wasn’t a resolution issue as when I set the resolution to 1080P it still happened. Basically when the game first launches the intro logos and screens were all really tiny and in the top left hand corner of the screen. It did have some issues but I’m unsure if it was with the game or with Proton. The graphics are pretty much the exact same as in Vegas even though improvements could have been made. It also does a good job of exploring side stories of what was happening before and during your game play in Vegas. The game still has very good shooting and sound effects. This may seem all negative but it really isn’t meant to be. ![]() Also without giving any spoilers I will say that there really should have been at least an additional cut scene between the second last level and the last one as I have a lot of questions about the story such as what the enemies were doing there and where your team came from. I may rag on the AI but I at least like to use them to draw fire from me and as bait. Your character literally tells them to stand back so he can go solo even though the game is a team based game. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the last battle because it was you going up against a helicopter and waves of enemies without any help from your team for no reason. Sadly some of the issues I had with Vegas were still there like poor team AI and the game defaulting your fire rate to auto when reloading a save. I didn’t really care about any of this but I’m sure someone may have so it’s not a bad thing to add. You can now customize your character’s armour clothing gender and face alongside your weapons. It still had the same core experience which, given that I enjoyed that, meant I had a lot of fun with the sequel. Vegas 2 didn’t really add a ton to the experience that Vegas brought but it also didn’t make things worse. By shylocksimmonz | Review Date: May 21, 2022
